Engine and Performance of the Mazda CX-90
The first-ever Mazda CX-90 is powered by the first-ever Mazda inline six-cylinder engine. Turbocharged for additional power output and efficiency, this groundbreaking new engine produces up to 340 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Mazda developed this new SUV from the ground up to be performance-focused, relying on a new rear-biased all-wheel drive layout. An emotional driving experience should come standard.
The Mazda CX-90 is a vehicle of historic firsts. Alongside its revolutionary new engine, it's also expected to use an advanced 48-volt hybrid system. Note that this will be separate from any plug-in electric hybrid (PHEV) version that may arrive. With power and dynamics at the forefront of this new Mazda SUV, it promises to be the most exciting vehicle in the lineup to date.
Exterior Styling
The 2024 Mazda CX-90 will turn heads around Hillsboro, featuring an elegant design that Mazda says was inspired by harnessing the power of light and shadow. It boasts a handsome and upscale exterior design with visible fender flares, premium lighting elements, and other powerful exterior cues. Every square inch of the new Mazda CX-90 has been developed with passion and precision at the heart of the design and informing every decision.
An Amenity-Filled and Cavernous Interior
The upcoming SUV is expected to offer a little more interior room than the Mazda CX-9, which this vehicle is replacing. Three rows of seating are expected to be offered standard, with room for up to seven passengers. The outgoing Mazda CX-9 featured captain's chairs, a power sunroof, wireless charging, and many more amenities that we expect to find in the replacement Mazda CX-90, but more details will follow as packaging is finalized.
While specifics are still vague, we are sure to find high-quality materials that make the inside of the new Mazda SUV feel special and luxurious. Leather, brushed aluminum, genuine rosewood, and more are likely to be available and give the cabin of the new Mazda CX-90 an unmistakable charm.
Modern Technology
While we will still need to wait to see what standard safety features Mazda has in store for us, the usual suite of driver assistance technology is sure to be available. That includes blind spot monitoring, lane-keeping assistance, frontal collision warning, a surround-view camera system, rear cross-traffic alert, Mazda radar cruise control with stop and go, and much more. The new Mazda CX-90 promises to be an enchanting companion when it comes to highway safety.
In line with the rest of the vehicles in the Mazda lineup, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration are expected to be standard equipment and make staying connected a seamless experience. Mazda Connected Services and a full-color center touchscreen will make everything from changing your music selection to altering drive modes an intuitive experience.
